I’ve always wanted to grow fractal broccoli but haven’t made the time for it. While shopping at Thrifty Foods tonight I came across these interesting specimens. Brassica oleracea ‘Romanesco’. Covered in butter, salt and pepper they were quite delicious.
So Strange.

I love romanesco. I don’t think you have them up there but heads up to people in the states, Trader Joe’s has an excellent frozen romanesco and regular cauliflower in a light garlic butter sauce. *drool* Something about the spiral shapes make them so beautiful and tasty looking.
