Exotic Gardening with Rare and Strange Plants

Life… What a journey it is. The last couple weeks have had a strange mental state, I’m feeling a bit lost, hoping for some clarity. The days are hot, and the evenings much the same, my mind feels a bit twisted up as of late. What’s worse, when I need a place of thought and serenity more then ever, the back garden is in total disarray with delayed outcomes immanent. Day two of the roofing and my garden is still totally flipped upside down. Today I spotted my brand new elephant ear colocasia had it’s new growth busted off. I water the garden as a pure chore, the chaos makes me want to close my eyes and wait for it all to be over. Perhaps an undertone of OCD is shining through, my nursery stock and tried and true collectibles are all mixed together. There is no symmetric, rhyme or reason. Specialized attention is out the door a blanket watering technique will suffice. I never realized how accustomed I had become to the green space in the back, evenings spent inside feel like a crime. My room is stuffy and the air thick, opening the window opens up the main drag with city howling, I close it once again and accept the heat vs. the noise.

Looking into the photos of July I find a nice little shot of the garden. Before the chaos.

And for more calming flower thoughts. Some snapshots I took at the greenhouse of the last run of summer annuals.
